About

Cassandra Sinclair didn't choose the kitchen — the kitchen chose her. Born into a family where cooking was the primary language of love, she picked up a spatula at age five after watching her Jamaican father's pancake attempt go sideways. What started as a little girl feeding visiting family members quietly grew into a lifelong calling she couldn't escape — especially once she learned that her maternal grandparents had owned and operated a restaurant and bakery in Jamaica. The roots were always there.

She made her way to Atlanta with a clear goal: earn a degree in pastry arts. When that path closed before it opened, she improvised — making box lunches for local businesses and finding her footing in a new city. Then life intervened. A dark period pulled her away from cooking entirely for several years. When she returned, she didn't go back to a restaurant or a catering hall. She threw a luncheon — a small, intimate, quarterly gathering of women — and in that room, she found her voice again.

That voice became The Chef In Pearls: a brand, a blog, and a private chef service that now spans more than seven years. Her cooking style is intentionally eclectic — rooted in Jamaican heritage, seasoned by international influences, and always aimed at one thing: comfort on a plate. She specializes in in-home chef services, private dining experiences, and gourmet cooking instruction, with a particular gift for making cooking feel approachable for people who are learning to feed themselves well. More recently, she's come full circle back to baking — cheesecakes specifically — a homecoming as sweet as the product itself.

Cassandra Sinclair is a chef, instructor, writer, and entrepreneur. But above all, she is proof that the road back to your purpose, however long and dark, is always worth the walk.
