This authentic Pad Krapow Gai is a beloved Thai street food dish featuring ground chicken stir-fried with holy basil, chilies, and a savory-sweet sauce. Served over rice with a fried egg on top.
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 4
Prepare Ingredients
Mince garlic and chilies. Pick basil leaves from stems. Have all sauce ingredients ready.
Heat Oil
Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until smoking.
Cook Aromatics
Add garlic and chilies, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add Chicken
Add ground chicken and break it up with a spatula. Cook for 3-4 minutes until almost cooked through.
Season
Add fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Finish with Basil
Remove from heat and stir in holy basil leaves until wilted. Serve over rice with fried egg.
